About

Twenty-first century law enforcement officers must be highly and specifically trained. The North Metro Regional Public Safety Training Facility was founded in 1992 with this goal in mind. The City of Maple Grove and the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office came together to build a 22,000 square foot training facility.

After nearly 30 years, the original facility had become dated and unable to meet modern demands. An extensive renovation and additional new construction was finished in March 2023. The facility now offers 58,000 square feet of training and range space. The City of Maple Grove owns the cooperative regional training facility. The four major partner agencies are Maple Grove Police Department, Plymouth Police Department, Brooklyn Park Police Department, and the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office. The features include the following.
