Safety Rules & Restrictions

A liability waiver must be signed.
All guests between the ages of 12 and 17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. No children under the age of 12 allowed on the range.
All guns must be cased or holstered.
Closed-toe shoes only.
No tracer, armor-piercing, or steel core ammo may be used.
New long gun restrictions:
- Carbines firing handgun calibers are allowed
- No shotguns
- Rifle calibers of.223/5.56 and smaller only

Individual Waiver Form

Firearm Rules

Treat every weapon as if it were loaded.
No firing will be done unless a qualified range officer is present.
Eye and ear protection are mandatory and available for rent at our facility.
No tracer ammunition is allowed.
No armor-piercing ammunition is allowed.
No steel core ammunition is allowed.
No weapons handling with anyone downrange.
Load and clear all weapons with the muzzle pointed downrange.
Targets must be placed at a height that requires horizontal aim.
Be sure of your target backstop and beyond.
Firearms shall not be handled by persons with a blood alcohol content in excess of .00% (Zero tolerance for alcohol) or under the influence of drugs or prescription medication that would impair a person's motor skills, judgment, or balance.
Bench shooting only, no draw and fire allowed.
No one under 12 allowed inside the firing range. Ages 12 to 17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
Bullseye target only.
Brass may only be collected from carpeted areas.
Closed-toe shoes only.

The North Metro Regional Public Safety Training Facility is rented for training courses provided by certified training professionals from several Twin Cities firearm training companies. For class schedules and details, please contact these individuals directly.

Is there handgun rentals or ammunition sales at this location?

No, the North Metro Regional Public Safety Training Facility does not offer handgun rentals or ammunition sales.
What are the age requirements?

This is a family-friendly gun range, and guests between the ages of 12 and 17 are welcome if accompanied by a parent or guardian. No one under the age of 12 is allowed on the range.
Are there caliber restrictions?

Yes. Bullet velocity must not exceed 4,000 feet (1,200 meters) per second.
Our shooting league meets on a night when the North Metro Regional Public Safety Training Facility does not offer public hours. Are there any exceptions?

We welcome shooting leagues or clubs and will work with you to accommodate any schedule. We require a two-hour minimum range rental for groups wishing to schedule outside of the general open public hours. Please contact us for more information.
